On the weekend of Friday 15th to Sunday 17th September, over half our new Lower Sixth Form cohort headed off for a weekend of fun and adventure, to round off their first week in the Sixth Form.
The Isle of Wight Adventure Weekend was a fun bonding experience for our new Sixth Formers to celebrate the end of their first week at Leighton Park. It was a great opportunity to continue building the friendships that will be with them throughout their Sixth Form years… and beyond. Students stayed at the PGL Centre, Little Canada, on the Isle of Wight where activities available included sailing, tree-top high ropes, aeroball, giant swing, kayaking and much more.
Helen Taylor, Head of Sixth Form, enthused: “Another excellent trip to the Isle of Wight. We were so proud of all the students as they took part in a wide range of fun activities. The highlight this year was Axe Throwing – we’d love a range at LP! Our new Lower Sixth were great at supporting each other to achieve more than they thought they could, this was especially true on Jacob’s Ladder and the Climbing Wall. The weather was beautiful on our ride over on the Fast-Cat and throughout Saturday – which ended with a sing song round the campfire.”
