The Leighton Park Parent & Staff Community (PSC) have been putting together Christmas boxes for the second year running, supporting those in need during the festive season. There are many families who are just managing in our local area and whilst they are coping day to day, the expense of celebrating at this time of year can be a cause of significant financial stress.
The PSC have been working with Whitley Community Development Association (WCDA) to identify families who would benefit from a little joy in the form of surprise, but bespoke gifts, specifically chosen to match their family composition. WCDA have shared a list of families they are keen to support and the LP community has gathered appropriate presents which WCDA can pass on. In addition, one of our Year 7 parents who benefits from match funding via her employer, Microsoft, kindly got involved in the partnership and generated a £2,500 donation for WCDA to spend on what is most needed by those they are trying to help.

We enjoyed putting a bag of gifts together for a local family to open on Christmas Day.” Year 8 mother, Shani agreed, “Such a wonderful cause and amazing work by the PSC team. The warm mince pie was delicious too. Merry Christmas!”
