PSC Quiz and Charity Auction

The Parent and Staff Community (PSC) hosted a wonderful social evening in Oakview restaurant on Friday 14th October; the PSC Quiz and Charity Auction! Almost 100 tickets were sold and teams of between 5 and 10 battled it out for the trophy, tackling questions about music, sport, films, and general trivia supplemented by some fun rounds such as heads and tails, pictures and dingbats. The School’s catering team, Thomas Franks Ltd, kindly provided a delicious Fish ‘n’ Chip supper, including vegan fish for those who wanted it, and proper squashy mushy peas! Quizmaster, Steve Corfield, did a brilliant job keeping the questions flowing and Eddie Falshaw, Deputy Head, compered the auction. Items available to bid on included holiday homes, beauty treatments, a sketch of your home by Matthew Judd, Head, a signed baseball cap and paella cooked to order for up to twelve by our Spanish teacher, Pablo Gorostidi-Perez.

There was a wonderful atmosphere in the room, and I think everyone will agree that Steve (our quizmaster) and Eddie (our auctioneer) did an absolutely tremendous job! It is a big piece of work to get that type of event on its feet for the first-time post Covid – it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.”
