The whole of the Upper Sixth gathered in Oakview on Friday 12th May for the evening celebrating the conclusion of their schooldays! It was a night to dress up for with satin, sequins and velvet on display and plenty of smiles to accessorise the occasion.
Students enjoyed taking group photos with their tutors and their subject teachers as this is the last time they are guaranteed to all be together before their public examinations and the world beyond! “It was a lovely evening; they all looked very glamorous,” enthused Helen Taylor, Head of Sixth Form. “It was great; there was a fantastic meal served by Oakview and the students presented each other with some entertaining awards. We are proud of all they have achieved and they deserved a good night!”
The awards included prizes for the student most likely to crash a wedding (Tommy), the biggest party animal (Daniel), the person most likely to become a politician (Becky) and the one teachers will still be talking about in 10 years time (Will)!
The food was a splendid spread prepared by the School’s caterers, Thomas Franks Ltd, and was a delight both to behold and to taste. The menu consisted of Beetroot and dill cured salmon, Roasted asparagus, Parma ham, poached duck egg and lemon oil or Roasted beetroot and goats’ cheese for starters followed by a choice of chicken, Salmon or aubergine parcel for the main. The delicious desserts were a chocolate brownie or lemon and raspberry tart.
