On Wednesday 17th September, we were delighted to host our annual Scholars’ Award Ceremony, recognising the achievements and potential of our newly appointed scholars. Held in the Upper Foyer of the MMC and Main Hall, the event brought together scholars, their families, and staff for an enjoyable evening of celebration.
We offer a broad selection of scholarships including the Head’s Scholarship Awards, Exhibition Scholarships and Honorary Scholarships across a range of disciplines. Scholarships are awarded for Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Sport, STEAM and Ethical Enterprise. In addition, David Lean Awards which recognise those who have achieved excellent GCSE results are presented to those who achieve seven grade 7s or above in the summer’s public examinations.
Kees Luteijn, Director of International Baccalaureate, who presented the IB Scholars’ Awards, commented, “The evening felt really nice, not just as a celebration and recognition of achievement, but also of our scholars being excellent role models across the school community and demonstrating the values that we embrace as a school. Our scholars’ abilities and their attitude to others is a great inspiration and support for their peers.”
Several Sixth Form students were awarded their Oakleaf Diploma Gold Certificates, having completed the program to the highest standard. The Oakleaf Diploma is designed to equip Sixth Form students with essential life skills, such as financial literacy, cooking, CV writing, and interview practice, all of which prepare them for adult life beyond school. One recipient, Antigoni, presented the components of her award showcasing the variety of activities that have prepared her for her future success.Scholarship applications are now open for entry in 2026 via the website, or for students already at Leighton Park via MySchoolPortal.
