There are 22 tennis courts at Leighton Park and we really like to make the most of them in the run up to Wimbledon! The first week of the Summer Term has begun with a sunny Senior House Tennis competition starring keen players from Years 11-Upper Sixth across our four Houses, Bentsi-Enchill, Cadbury, Fox and Tubman.
Balls were bouncing, rackets swooshing and the slap of trainers hitting the court at an admirably fast pace filled the air as the matches got underway. With so many sportsmen and women eager to score points for their House it was an energetically enjoyable afternoon.
The PE Department will be announcing the winners of the competition in Collect.
Tennis is one of 30 sports available to our students alongside the three core sports of hockey, netball and football. Students can select from a variety of sporting pursuits fitting their own interests and ambitions to build their skills in the sports that appeal to them. Other popular sports include volleyball, cricket, swimming, judo, yoga and badminton. We offer a Sport for All approach engaging students with a love of exercise that will last a lifetime as well as supporting elite athletes through our Advanced Performer Programme (APP).
