The sports scholars visited Move HQ on Tuesday for some end of season fitness testing. Move HQ is an elite level sports training facility in Winnersh. Our Sports Scholars and Advanced Performance Programme (APP) supports our elite level students to develop in their team or individual sports, as well as gaining membership at Go Perform, an elite sports science centre. As part of the programme, our athletes benefit from specialist trips throughout the year, as well as visits from professional athletes and sports professionals to Leighton Park.
Commenting on the trip, Director of Sport – Simon Bradbury commented: “The students took part in 10m acceleration, 5 o 5 agility, counter movement jump and a hop test. The staff at Move HQ will send the results to the students to analyse and set targets to improve next year. The session ended with a talk on the value of performance testing. It was a nice way to end the year for the current group of sports scholars.”
