Sublime Scholars’ Concert

Wednesday 9th March saw our talented musicians deliver a sublime Scholars’ Concert to an intimate audience in the Main Hall. From Mozart to Fleetwood Mac, violin to trumpet, the programme covered a range of pieces and instruments, offering something for everyone.

Bassoon player, Alice in Year 8, who recently won second place in the U13 recital at the Woodley Festival of Music and Arts, spoke about the benefit of frequently working with accompanists in school concerts, “It meant that I was more used to it when it came to performing at Woodley” she commented.

Not to be forgotten are The Friends of LP Music, who delivered their usual exceptional service, manning the reception desk with refreshments for guests, Accompanist, Hayley, and the entire technical and media crew, made up of staff and students.

The MMC is often described as one of the busiest areas of the School. Scholar’s in particular get to enjoy its seven practice rooms, a media room and live lounge. The department has equipment to support the development of musicians in both instrumental capability and technical skills using the latest equipment and software, supported by our relationship with Yamaha as their flagship Music Education Partnership School and a Steinberg Certified Training Centre.
