The Leighton Park and Kennet Music Partnership

This September, Leighton Park is delighted to commence a new music education partnership with The Kennet Federation. The partnership will not only enable students at Katesgrove and Southcote Primary Schools to have regular access to music education, but also the opportunity to be mentored by Leighton Park Music Scholars through weekly visits in our Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) Programme.

“This is a hugely exciting mutually beneficial partnership, which is built on Leighton Park’s music for all philosophy.” commented Natasha Coccia, Senior Assistant Head: Partnerships and Co-Curricular. “Part of our commitment as a Quaker school is living out our values through action, service and a values-based education model. In order to support our work with The Kennet Federation we have set up The Leighton Park and Kennet Music Partnership.”

Director of Music, Rosemary Scales, remarked “At Leighton Park, we know the transformative power of music education and we pride ourselves on sharing our commitment to a music for all ethos. It is our vision that The Leighton Park and Kennet Music Partnership will make a significant impact with all students who participate in the partnership. We are hugely grateful to those who can support the mutually beneficial work and what we aim to achieve as a community over the coming years.”

What makes this partnership even more exciting is the ability for friends of Leighton Park to support the cause through buying a piano, woodwind or string instrument.

To celebrate our ten-year anniversary working with Coach House Pianos, all piano brand purchases made between now and Saturday 30th September will maintain a significant discount on published prices.

In addition to this, Coach House Pianos will make a donation per piano sold, back into The Leighton Park and Kennet Music Partnership. If you are interested in this offer, please contact [email protected], stating you are a friend of one of the partner schools.

If you would like to purchase a woodwind or string instrument as part of the first phase of tuition, this can be done through our educational partnership with Yamaha. Director of Music, Rosemary Scales, would be delighted to discuss this with you. Please contact her directly at [email protected].
