To celebrate this Shrove Tuesday before the arrival of lent, Fryer House partook in their very own Pancake Hunger Games, creating, flipping, and even dancing their way to victory!
The activity, which this year, superseded the infamous LP Pancake Race, challenged students to create colourful pancake art, inspire people to make the perfect pancake with an original tutorial, complete the most flips in one minute (bonus points for most epic flip), choreograph and perform a pancake dance, or finally photograph the biggest stack of pancakes.
Head of Fryer, Adrian Stewart was delighted to receive an array of pancake spectacles, “The idea was for Fryer to try something new, get creative, and push themselves to better previous attempts.” He commented.
Dominic in Year 8 remarked “I enjoyed The Pancake Hunger Games thoroughly and there were many options to go for, so I went for the one that I thought was hardest. I think I did 40-50 flips!”
Sophie in Year 7 commented “I did a dance and most of the inspiration came from the song I found, Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson. I kind of just let my feet take me and it worked out.”
The Fryer Tutor Teams now have the tough decision of crowning the perfect pancake and winner of the 2021 Pancake Hunger Games.
