Time for a Bedtime Story?

Poetry podcast “Bedtime Stories for the End of the World” is described as an “apocalyptic poetry podcast about the power of myth and the politics of storytelling.” OL Tom MacAndrew (S2005) is the producer of this wonderful re-working of traditional myths, fairytales and legends from around the world for our troubled times by some of the UK’s top poets and most exciting emerging artists. A beautifully illustrated book “Ink Tales: Bedtime Stories for the end of the world” is being published on 15th October for children age 12 upwards.

Tom is a freelance literature and spoken word producer. Whilst he confesses to not having been a great poetry enthusiast at Leighton Park, Tom’s career has led him to delivering poetry tours nationally and internationally, as well as producing education programmes, podcasts, and shows for BBC Radio and iPlayer. He manages the Young People’s Laureate for London and is the producer of monthly poetry night Out-Spoken, currently resident at the Southbank Centre. Tom has worked with many leading poets including Francesca Beard, Anthony Anaxagorou, Ella Frears, Joshua Idehen, John Hegley and Joelle Taylor.
