Tubman House have launched a school-wide appeal this term to collect dontations for The Cowshed , a compassionate and community-driven charity dedicated to providing support to individuals of all backgrounds during times of personal crisis. Their mission is simple yet impactful: to offer good quality, cleaned, and ironed clothes and other essential items free of charge to those in need. Their support extends to individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds facing various difficult situations, offering support with clothing, shoes, bedding, curtains, school uniforms, baby equipment, and other essentials.
Tubman’s charity reps, Saarvi (Upper Sixth) and George (Lower Sixth) collected the donations from Peckover Hall and loaded them into the car ready for Pablo Gorostidi-Perez, Spanish teacher and CAS Co-ordinator, to take over to the charity on Friday 14th February.
Saarvi commented, “It’s really helpful for Tubman to support The Cowshed because The Cowshed itself is supporting a really good cause. Since we are such a privileged school and such a privileged community I think it’s important to give back to the less fortunate as well.We really appreciate the way the school community has engaged with this donation drive; we even had to empty the collection bins last week as so much had been put into them.”
George added, “We’ve had a good relationship with The Cowshed for quite some time now and it’s important to keep that relationship maintained. We are doing more fundraising at school events later in the year alongside this donation drive too.”
