Billed as the School’s ‘major theatre event of the year’, Molière’s ‘Tartuffe’ has challenged, entertained and captivated Year 10.
Following auditions in September of last year, Drama Teacher, Damon Young, and his dedicated cast have navigated remote rehearsals and social distancing to bring the comedy to life.
Tartuffe himself, otherwise known as Charlie, reflected “My favourite part about Drama is giving the audience that experience of seeing a story play out in front of them and the actors being able to embody those characters that they’re portraying for the audience, that can be a really fulfilling experience on both ends.”
On Monday 14th June, students and staff gathered on the Field House green, stretched across beanbags, to watch Act III in the late afternoon sun. The cast’s understated performance of the comedy, received barrels of laughs from an amused audience.
Damon commented, “Year 10 are a particularly talented drama group… Tartuffe is a play that is about 400 years old and from France but still manages to be very, very funny.”
